Holiday Bliss 2010-December 31

Today is the last day of the Holiday Bliss 2010 meme!  This month has gone by so quickly and I have enjoyed reading about your holiday plans this month.  It has been fun!

Today we are going to be using an idea that I got from my friend Jennifer from Adventures in Unsell Land.  She shared this idea on Facebook, so I have no idea if she will be sharing it on her blog today as well until I go look.   But her blog is fun, so even if she doesn’t share this today, you’ll still enjoy it.  But regardless, it was a fabulous idea that she said she got years ago from Family Fun Magazine.

We will be celebrating New Year’s Eve with “Clock Bags”.  Our party will start at NOON and go until midnight.  Every hour, we will open up the designated bag and do whatever is either in the bag or what the card in the bag tells us to do.  It should be loads of fun and very memorable.  I have a mixture of games and activities to do and of course there will be confetti and poppers to celebrate with.  I can hardly wait to start our countdown party.

I found some really cute paper sacks that were on clearance, so we are using those for our bags.  I found the clock faces as free clip art online.  It has been fun to put together for my family and I know that Chandler will go nuts for it.  He loves surprises and this will be right up his alley.

So if you don’t see much of me today, I am probably busy partying it up into the New Year, family style.  If you do happen to catch me online, I’ll still be partying.  I just might be chatting about what we are doing on my facebook account.  If we don’t connect, have a super new year!

What are your plans to bring in 2011?

  1. What a neat idea! We’re doing a bit of shopping and hopefully will have a short visit to the Anchorage Museum as a family.

Thanks so much for hosting this and the Gratitude Challenge, Brenda. I’ve had a lot of fun writing for them AND reading other bloggers’ posts.

    Enjoy your New Year’s celebration.

  3. Well, our “countdown day” was to be spent traveling back from Texas….but we came home yesterday, when we saw the weather forecast, predicting tornado watches throughout our area. I didn’t want to travel in that!!

So, instead, we are home already…..gives us an extra day as family, since hubby is home, and his daughter is with us this weekend!

Have a Happy and Blessed New Year!! Enjoyed the daily blogging the past this month and last….Would like to keep going!! LOL

  4. What a fun way to ring in the new year. We always get together at church, but that would be so much fun to do next year.
