Crockpot Lasagna

By

This is one of my favorite crockpot recipes.  It is so easy and very tweakable to suit your own recipe and taste.  But here is the way I like to make it.

1 Large Jar of your favorite Spaghetti sauce

1 Pkg Wide Egg Noodles

1 lb Ground Beef

Shredded Cheese of your choice  (I like a blend of Mozzarella, cheddar and Parmesan)

Brown hamburger.  Add a little chopped onion if desired.  Drain.

In crockpot or slow cooker, spread sauce over bottom until it is just covered.  Sprinkle a layer of wide egg noodles to cover the sauce.  Spread another layer of sauce over the noodles.  Add a layer of the hamburger.  Top with a layer of shredded cheese. Repeat layers, starting with the egg noodles, then the sauce, hamburger and cheese.  Continue with layers unto you have reached the top of your crockpot or have run out of ingredients.  Make sure to top with extra cheese on last layer.

Cook on low for 3 hours or until done.  You should be able to slide a knife through the middle easily.

You can add in a layer of ricotta or cottage cheese and herbs if you desire, but we like this fast and simple.  When I make lasagna in the oven, I use the ricotta or cottage cheese mixture.  This is just a nice break from that.  :)
