Meet Me At The Corner–Free Resource
ByToday I want to share a great resource I just discovered: Meet Me At The Corner.
This website is filled with virtual field trips and a virtual book club. The videos are short and are made by kids for kids. You can visit a museum or a zoo. How about watching an interview with an author or illustrator? Want to learn about comic books? Or how about the process of making perfume? Have a book you want your child to read? Why not have them use one of the book club videos? You will find additional resources here as well, such as related websites and even questions you can ask to check for reading comprehension.
In addition to the short videos, there are additional resources for learning enhancement. On the page of each video is a list of related websites and learning activities put together by educators to make the most of the learning time.
Perhaps your child will become inspired and want to create their own video for the site. There are lessons on how to create a video and on how to submit your own video to share.
All in all, I think that Meet Me At The Corner is a very cool little site with a lot of potential. And the best part? It doesn’t cost anything more than a little bit of your time.

thanks for the nice words about MEET ME THE CORNER, Virtual Field Trips for KIds (www.meetmeatthecorner.org) . I hope all our readers will stop by and see the new virtual field trip to San Diego. Our young homeschooler Robert visits the USS MIDWAY and learns about life aboard an aircraft carrier which is like a floating city.
